Summer Fun

It's hard to believe that another school year is over and summer is here. The kids get to sleep in, hang out with friends, and enjoy activities like camps, swimming, and going to the amusement park.

They may not have homework to complete, but reading should remain an important part of their day. Instead of opening a text book, children can read a novel, biography, picture book, or write their own story...whatever the choice, let's make sure that they continue to learn.

The slogan "Reading is Fundamental" starts out with the letters that spell the word FUN, and it is. Let's encourage our children to read not only over the next few months, but for life. Turn the pages of that book, power up that tablet, or start that computer. Whatever the method, let's make reading a part of summer fun!
