I am Wonderfully Made
I Am Wonderfully Made written by Kimberly Barrett Luttery and illustrated by Nicole Collie Jamison is a children’s picture book that focuses on helping young readers learn to love themselves unconditionally. The main character Nia shares everything that she loves about herself from her head to her feet, inside and out. The book was created to encourage children to embrace the unique individuals that they are. Building confidence and self-esteem starts at an early age, and children who read this book can utilize it as a tool to support developing life skills. Every child has her and his own gifts, talents, and strengths.
The positive images and affirmations on each page were designed to help foster confidence, in hopes that each child who reads it will see that everything about them is beautiful and wonderful.
This colorful children’s picture book appeals to children ages 3 - 8 years old, but older children and adults will love it as well. The simplicity of the language is perfect for reading aloud as a bedtime story or anytime story. It is the second in a series of stories for children about the facts of life, and love. I Am Wonderfully Made is a universal story that is a great family book for African American girls, African American boys, and children of all races.

I love that I am unique
There is no one else like me
I love that we are all different
Like the leaves on a tree
I love that I am special
Exactly who I am meant to be
Beautifully and wonderfully made
For all the world to see
“I wrote I Am Wonderfully Made to encourage children to love the unique individuals that they are. Building confidence and self-esteem starts at a young age, and I want this book to be used as a tool to support that. Every child has her and his own gifts, talents, and strengths. The positive images and affirmations on each page were designed to help foster confidence, and my desire is that each child who reads it will see that everything about them is beautiful and wonderful.”
“What is so important about this book is that it encourages children at a young age to find things within themselves that they love. Self-esteem and self-worth need to be developed early in life, and this book is something that can be used as a building block towards that foundation. A positive self-image now will help children develop intoconfident adults. I illustrated the pages of this book with this vision in mind."
I am wonderfully made
